With a reduced beam and rig height and an increased cabin space, Shockwave is a (slightly) tuned down version of the iconic ORMA 60. She is as fast or faster than the fastest racing maxi monohulls and races competitively with the fastest racing multihulls.This performance doesn’t come at the cost of comfort, and it also doesn’t come at the cost of safety or ease of sailing. With a “true wind speed to hull fly” of 22-24 knots, Shockwave can be sailed safely (and flat) well beyond a comparable cruising cat and can sail in excess of 20 knots of wind before needing to take her first reef.The 63' trimaran has far more in the way of accommodation and amenities than can be expected of a typical race boat.Her two queen cabins are spacious and private, with plenty of storage and an ensuite vanity in the Master.
