By the time we rounded the first mark, we were in 25 knots of wind, taking on heavy waves and spray, the crew and I were wide eyed, excited and lets just say that there was no shortage of adrenaline between us, Volare was the most calm as she was handling things just perfectly! While other boats suffered breakdowns and knockdowns. Volare was holding and tracking. At one point we topped a huge wave! Our speed shot up to 14.5 knots! Amongst other thoughts that came to mind...;)  I thought to myself... with all my years of being at sea.. WOW this is impressive!"This boat can clearly handle it with the right skipper!We flew down to the finish line and took 1st place!What an exhilarating feeling!As the saying goes, 'time and tide wait for no man.' As I'm surpassing 85 wonderful years in my life, my time has come to pass Volare on to the next owner.
