The First 14 faithfully recreates the thrilling world of swift planing dinghies. The boat is light, manageable, and simply fun, and the high quality of her construction ensures worry-free ownership and makes maintenance simple. She promises limitless enjoyment on the water with to her self-tacking and furling sail, wide and stable hull, and roomy open cockpit with no tangled lines. With two centerboard settings, you can simply change the sail area according on the wind speed or crew size without sacrificing the sailing experience. She is built to be flown without a trapeze. She ensures hassle-free ownership with her aluminum rig, dacron sails, and easy-to-maintain deck equipment.

STANDARD FEATURES

CONSTRUCTION

• Vinyl-ester vacuum infused hull, deck and structure with PVC foam cored sandwich and glass-fibres

• Hull and deck moulded in single tone off-white gelcoat

• Rolled antiskid on the cockpit floor

• D2 design category following European Directive and CE certification requirements

DAGGERBOARD & STEERING ARRANGEMENT

• Two daggerboard casings (forward casing for full-sails set setup, aft casing for mainsail-only sail configuration)

• One GRP daggerboard in the gelcoat finish

• One GRP rudder blade in the gelcoat finish

• Anodized and powder-coated aluminium rudder box with carbon tiller and Ronstan Battlestick tiller extension

COCKPIT

• Adjustable central foot strap with elastics

• Attachment points on the sides of the hull and on the inside of the cockpit in the stern for “Removable wheels” option

RIG

• Two-section carbon mast without spreaders

• Carbon boom

• Carbon bowsprit

• All carbon parts are UV protected

• Mainsail, jib and gennaker halyard

• 1/19 3 mm / 0,12 inch shrouds with stay adjusters on the side shrouds

SAILS

• North Sails OneDesign racing furling jib with vertical battens and zipper along the luff, Pentex laminate, 2,9 m2 / 31 ft2

• North Sails OneDesign racing gennaker in red colour with retriever attachment points, nylon, 13 m2 / 140 ft2

MAINSAIL CONTROLS

• Mainsheet with blocks, a-frame and cleat on the boom

• Carbon gnav (upside-down vang) system with purchase and cleat on the mast foot

• Cunningham purchase with a cleat on the mast foot

• Outhaul adjustable at the boom-end

JIB CONTROLS

• Jib furler set and furling line

• Continuous jib halyard in the zip-pocket with jib cunningham

• Self-tacking jib track with adjustable limiters, jib sheet, blocks and cleat on the mast foot

GENNAKER CONTROLS

• Retractable carbon bowsprit with running rigging equipment, controlled over the gennaker halyard

• Gennaker halyard and retriever line as continuous single-rope, with cleat and blocks

• Continuous gennaker sheets with automatic ratchet blocks
