Sparkman Stephens Sunward 48

This Sparkman and Stephens Sunward 48 is one of 27 vessels built by Sunward Yacht Company out of Wilmington, NC, and finished out by Rose Yacht Interiors. Willet is a very heavy and capable blue water yacht built to the highest standards. She has 16,500 pounds of ballast and with over 50,000# of displacement she carries her sail well. With a hull speed of 8.3 knots she is an excellent passage maker. She also carries 500 gallons of fresh water, 320 gallons of fuel in GRP tanks below cabin sole keeping the weight down low as it should be. 

Accommodations

Willet is a pilot house center cockpit design with port and starboard boarding gates that lead into the well protected pilot house with excellent visibility and protection from the elements. The centerline companionway leads to the main salon with sunken galley to starboard and navigation center to port. Just forward on the starboard side is an L-shaped settee with beautiful dining table as a centerpiece. Across on port is a settee with abundant storage lockers with beautiful detail. Forward of main salon on port is a large storage locker that could be converted to a laundry center and across on starboard a ensuite head with storage and shower. Forward is a double berth and copious amounts of storage. Aft of salon on port is a work bench complete with vice and additional storage. Across is the walk in engine room with great access and a custom electrical distribution panel complete with main battery switch gear. Aft is the queen berth with ample storage and the private head with separate shower. Adequate ventilation everywhere is provided by dorado vents and large opening stainless ports with large over head hatches. The interior mahogany woodwork has a beautiful fit and finish accented by olive burl wood and leaded stain glass cabinet doors.
