AS IS, WHERE IS

Classic Staysail-Ketch Rigged

Furling Main, Genoa and Staysail

Cruise RO Water Watermaker System (New in 5 unopened boxes)

Hardtop Cockpit and Dodger with Solid Windshield

The Alden Boothbay Explorer 58 was designed by John G. Alden and built by Hodgdon Brothers in East Boothbay, Maine. Explorer is an able and seaworthy boat, built to the highest of standards, including Lloyd’s certification. Her timeless beauty is undeniable and she turns heads wherever she goes.

Explorer is structurally sound, had new standing rigging installed in 2014, her hull sides were repainted in 2009, she was repowered in 2001 with a new John Deere main engine, she has a new uninstalled watermaker and a lot of high quality professionally fabricated stainless steel upgrades—i.e. double stainless steel railings around the entire vessel, custom dive tank racks, granny bars at mast, custom jerry can racks and bins throughout the interior. Her air conditioners work and she has some recent Garmin electronics—touchscreen chartplotter, radar, multi and auto pilot.

There are still plenty of projects necessary to bring Explorer back to her full glory. Her interior needs to be updated, her DC system needs to be checked out (batteries need to be renewed), she is due for a bottom job and her cockpit needs to be freshened up. More will be on this list, but she is priced accordingly.

Unlike most older boats, Explorer will be worth the effort and expense needed to bring her back into tip-top condition. All eyes will be drawn to her wherever she goes.
