Description

The "Classic Lass" is a beautiful Grand Banks trawler that features stainless handrails, an extended bimini on the fly bridge and a fiberglass transom for less teak maintenance. Powered by twin 210 HP Cummins diesels, she will cruise at 9-15 knots.

"Classic Lass" is located in Jacksonville Beach FL, ready for your inspection and Offer. Feel free to call me directly to discuss this currently rare to the market, Grand Banks classic.

Images 1-77 are older images for past reference. Images 78 and beyond were all taken in Jax Beach Dec. 2023. She is about to be detailed and hauled for bottom inspection and zincs, as she was bottom painted last season. She will have all new images on or before she is relaunched in the next few weeks. Seller is about to take for a small day cruise tomorrow so we should have some underway images asap too!

Owner Comments:

They say the best day is the day you buy and the day you sell, but not with Classic Lass.  Every day was a best day with her and we are saddened to let her go.  She is equipped for enjoyment, comfort, safety, and efficiency for short or long term cruising.

Classic Lass came to us in March 2017 after years of searching for the perfect Grand Banks size and layout.  The 36 is large enough to handle the roughest sea conditions, provide ample livability space, but also be small enough for maneuverability and standard dockage.  Always able to find a slip in her home port area of the middle Chesapeake Bay.  Her beautiful teak interior and exterior provides a true classic nautical boat feel.  Teak was professionally maintained, covered, and wintered inside so the majority is in excellent condition.

Great maneuverability and visibility due to the twin diesel Cummings (2417 hours) and fly bridge.  She truly spins on a dime making for egress/ingress of tight marinas less stressful.  (You know everyone is watching!)  The twins also give us the extra security of a 2nd engine should one fail.  Fortunately, that has never happened as these engines have received routine service by Cummings professionals as well as the Captain.

Updated Garmin electronics with AIS for navigation, VHF radio, Bluetooth/Sirius radio, engine synchronization, and cruise control included on the flybridge as well as main salon.

The GB Classic design has a great fly bridge and it was ALWAYS our favorite place to be.  Whether underway or lounging.  New canvas, beautiful teak table, Yeti 125 cooler, and lots of bench and deck chairs very comfortable seating 6.  Classic Lass was always the go-to boat for special events like Blue Angels, as her fly deck could expand to 10 with lower deck providing for overflow.

Should foul weather appear, the cabin helm is warm, dry and equally effective with a portable captain chair, large windows and wipers.  Updated electronics provide navigational safety.

The main salon includes a full kitchen and all necessary appliances – oven, 3 burner stove, microwave, refrigerator, icemaker/freezer, etc.  All appliances to accommodate coffee and toast for breakfast, hotplate for cooking underway to a blended, frozen margherita for happy hour.  Includes extensive storage for every plate, utensil, wine glass needed.  Lots and lots of dry storage for food and supplies. Easily stock for a week on the hook.

Dropping hook was our preference.   The beauty and solitude of a quiet anchorage to enjoy the antics of herons and ospreys and catch a couple crabs for dinner couldn’t be  beat.  Anchor with ~150 feet of chain makes for secure anchoring.  We have ridden out storms that have shredded the canvas, but she held secure.  Anchoring accomplished with the Windlass at the cabin helm or foot buttons on deck.  A second anchor is also on board for anchorage requirements or when extra security is needed.   Maybe a little paddle boarding or discovering hidden creeks on the dingy.  (Caribe hard bottom w/ xx gas outboard included)  The inverter and generator give you cooking options, plus the railing propane grill.   The multitude of hatches and doors and a Windscoop keeps the vessel breezy and bug free. However, if the summer heat is too much just turn on the generator (997 hours) and run the AC.  3 units for each living area.  A new, larger capacity unit for main salon keeps it cool and humidity free.

Aft cabin stateroom is large with a queen and full berths and a man-sized shower and head. Large closet and storage drawers with extra capacity for tools, vacuum, and boat supplies. V-Berth has a second head and shower with additional closet and drawer space.  Two water tanks with xx capacity provides plenty of water for all your bathing and household needs.  Plus bottled water dispenser for fresh spring water.

The TV and digital antenna accelerator allows for keeping up with the news or entertainment.

Foldable boat bike for cruising ports-of-call.

Boat is fully provisioned for immediate use – all that is missing is you.

Maintenance records aboard for Buyer inspection.
