Equipped with twin diesel Volvo Penta IPS 500 drives. Her propulsion unit, gearbox, twin-prop technology, exhaust with seawater system, steering and controls - are all in one package backed by Volvo Penta. Compared to standard shaft drives, vibration and sound is reduced, and because the exhaust exits from the rear of the IPS units buried deep in the prop wash, fumes are carried away far behind the boat. Fresh air. With the IPS Joystick control and bow thruster, docking and maneuvering in tight quarters is easy and stress free.

The 4300 Sovran also integrates the Volvo IPS Joystick control that puts unmatched low-speed maneuverability at your fingertips. With a single, subtle movement of the IPS Joystick, you command the IPS propulsion units to respond in any direction. This gives you the power to maintain control during tight-quarter docking, reversing or even going straight sideways. Most importantly, because IPS takes up 25% less area in the 4300 Sovran, the design team was able to employ the newly available space as a full second stateroom with enclosed head. The cockpit seating is both inviting and comfortable - a perfect environment for the cruising lover.

HELM & COCKPIT

Boarding the vessel over the swim platform and through the transom gate, immediately to port is a large C-shaped seating area and teak table. This entire section lifts up by activating a switch located behind the helm seat, allowing access to the main engines, pods, generator, batteries and other storage areas.

On the starboard side of the upper cockpit there is a small wet bar with a refrigerator. On the port side opposite the helm is another seating area and teak table with great 360° visibility. This area is protected with an aluminum and tempered glass windshield, and an FRP hard top with an Isinglass enclosure. The windshield has an electrically powered vent in the center, and there are two overhead hatches providing ventilation. The bench style helm seat is electronically activated fore and aft, and the dash has dual Raymarine Multifunction displays, engine-monitoring instrumentation, joystick and bow thruster controls, VHF, and compass.
