SAN DIEGO, CA (March 12, 2019) – Maritime Museum of San Diego, home to one of the world’s largest collections of historic vessels and fascinating exhibits, invites San Diegans and regional visitors to celebrate Fourth of July at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. The Museum has several options to choose from. Space is limited. Reservations are required.
- The observation deck of the Museum’s historic 1898 steam ferryboat Berkeley offers guests a spectacular view of the fireworks over San Diego Bay. A buffet dinner will be provided on the upper deck interior of the 1898 Victorian-era steam ferryboat Berkeley, and guests may choose from two sittings: 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m. Prices for dinner tickets are $45 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under. - For those looking for a more exhilarating experience, guests may choose to enjoy a special fireworks cruise onboard the schooner Californian, official tall ship for the state. The cruise departs Maritime Museum of San Diego at 6:30 p.m. and returns following the fireworks show. A full bar will be on board for those 21 and over wishing to purchase alcoholic beverages. Tickets for the fireworks cruise are $85 each. Reservations for the evening fireworks cruise can be made at sdmaritime.org or by calling 619.234.9153 ext. 111.
- Guests can also join a bay front cruise on one of the Museum’s smaller historic engine powered vessels from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. for just $35 and enjoy the fireworks from the water. All activities include admission to the Maritime Museum of San Diego’s ten historical vessels and vessel exhibit galleries. Additional food and beverage may be purchased at the Museum Café cart located at the main entrance.
For guests purchasing general admission tickets the day of July 4, several ships plus the mooring platform located directly behind the Berkeley will be open to view the fireworks show.
Maritime Museum of San Diego is located at 1492 N. Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101-3309 (between Grape and Ash St.) and encompasses a collection of 10 historic vessels including the world’s oldest active sailing ship, Star of India. Parking is metered for a maximum of 3 hours.

A special discounted admission of only $10.00 will begin at 8:00 p.m. for guests only wanting to watch the fireworks. Maritime Museum closes at 9:30 p.m.
