U.S. Representatives Joe Cunningham (D-S.C.) and Garrett Graves (R-La.) have introduced legislation to reauthorize the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund through 2024.
About $650 million from the trust fund is given each year to state wildlife agencies to assist in fisheries management and restoration projects, boating infrastructure projects and other purposes.

The fund relies in part by the federal excise tax on fishing equipment that is paid by the sport fishing industry, the boat fuel tax and import duties. Click here to read more.
