SEATTLE – December 8, 2016 – The Seattle Boat Show, Indoors + Afloat, is known far and wide for the quantity, quality and variety of its free seminars. For the 2016 show there will be more than 200 free seminars on everything from cruising to Alaska to diesel engine maintenance, and advanced seminars for a fee through Boat Show University. Specifically on the fishing stage, there will be nearly 60 free fishing and crabbing seminars by the Pacific Northwest’s premier fishing experts. From Lake Washington’s smorgasbord of freshwater species, to tuna off Washington’s coast including a blitz of the most knowledgeable salmon fishing presenters ever assembled, anglers will hear from the best of the best. And don’t overlook the outstanding crabbing and shrimping presentations. There is no better way for an angler to improve his or her success on the water than investing in an hour or two at one of the show’s seminars. Whether it’s learning to mooch, learning dirty downrigger techniques, mastering kayak fishing, or learning about San Juan Islands salmon secrets, the Seattle Boat Show is the place to be, Friday Jan. 27 through Saturday Feb. 4, 2017.
“One of the best values at the Seattle Boat Show are the free fishing seminars, featuring fishing gurus from the Pacific Northwest sharing their knowledge on tuna and salmon fishing, along with crabbing and shrimping in Puget Sound waters,” says Tony Floor, director of fishing affairs for the Northwest Marine Trade Association. “I can’t think of a better opportunity to improve anglers’ skills anywhere for saltwater fishing, crabbing and shrimping than attending these outstanding seminars.”

West Marine Northwest Salmon Derby Series
While at the show, stop by to view the grand prize for next year’s West Marine Northwest Salmon Derby Series: a 22-foot welded aluminum Hewescraft Ocean Pro, powered with Honda 250 and 9.9 horsepower outboards on an EZ Loader galvanized tandem axel trailer, fully outfitted with Scotty downriggers, Raymarine electronics and a Dual Stereo system — an $85,000 value.
When an angler purchases a derby ticket to any of the 16 derbies prior to the Everett Coho Derby, they are automatically entered the drawing for the grand prize boat, which will take place at the conclusion of the Everett Coho Derby Sept. 23-24, 2017. Everett Coho Derby participants are also entered in the drawing. If an angler enters all 16 derbies, the angler’s name will be entered 16 times into the drawing for the grand prize boat. Purchase of a derby ticket is not required to win this boat and you do not need to catch a fish to be entered the drawing.
The 2017 West Marine Northwest Salmon Derby Series kicks off with the sold-out Roche Harbor Salmon Classic, Jan. 19-21, 2017, and concludes with Friday Harbor Salmon Classic, Dec. 1-3, 2017. Visit http://northwestsalmonderbyseries.com/ for more information.
