For Sale: 1984 30 ft Tartan 3000 diesel Auxiliary sloop in Fairfield, Connecticut. Just returned from a triumphant West Long Island Sound cruise, she is in the water and fully commissioned.Designed by Sparkman and Stephens, “The Tartan 3000 was designed to be faster, easier to sail and graced with a better layout than the Tartan 30, with a higher standard of finish.”Sparkman and Stephens designed the Tartan 3000 with an L shaped galley to starboard with good storage and secure points to lean against when working in a seaway. To port is a navigation station with all the accoutrements. The comfortable saloon is the traditional layout with settee berths on either side of the drop-down table. The traditional Sparkman and Stevens sports gorgeous teak joinery beautifully finished and in wonderful condition. I am a fan of lots of teak below and this boat has it all. The head compartment is athwartships with the marine head to starboard and the sink and wet locker to port. The forepeak has the usual V berth. Cabin upholstery in in great condition.On deck, all sheets and halyards lead to the cockpit.
