Description

This boat was originally built for the Trillingham family of Bermuda, owners of the waterfront clothier of that name. She was intended for ocean racing, and has been substantially modified since that time.

During the early to mid 1990's, QUEST was rebuilt from the inside out. All electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems were replaced professionally. In 1997, the interior was substantially changed to provide more space and cruising comfort.

Importantly, she is set up with removable staysail stay and running backstays for offshore sailing. Seacocks are all bronze, ball valve type, serviced in 2021.

Mainsail is fully battened with lazy jacks, with standard jiffy reefing and two reef points. The Genoa is a 130% Bohndell briradial, in excellent condition. Also an asymmetric cruising spinnaker with sock, as well as all storm sails (never used).

Sailing Characteristics
Quest is a lovely sailing boat. Her long keel and cut-away forefoot (Tripp designed) gives her a nice tracking ability and no trouble tacking. She is quite stiff; her low aspect main with relatively long boom allow her to carry full main in 20-plus knots of wind, depending on point of sail.
