CLASSIC 50' GAFF RIGGED SLOOP, 1898, a truly vintage yacht, lovingly restored by the current owner, relaunched 2006.  All wood construction, with mainly original features retained, or reproduced with custom fittings where necessary.  Perkins 50hp diesel engine, pine mast and spars.
Can sleep up to 5, in basic internal fit out.

Formerly known as Molita. Truly vintage yacht, rescued and rebuilt by the current over, stronger than before, relaunched in 2006.

Construction

Pitch and Oregon pine planking on iroko frames.
All hull planking copper fastened.
Iroko main frames laminated.
Steamed American oak intermediate frames.
Teak deck planking, replaced 2005, 1 x 10mm teak, 2x 8mm plywood and 1 x 10mm Oregon PIne.
Teak covering board.
Laminated iroko horizontal and vertical knees.
Laminated iroko stem and stern, bronze through bolted.
Hull painted blue with teak varnished capping rails.
Long keel, elm and bronze fastened lead keel.

To add strength, the chain plates were redesigned in stainless steel to distribute the load of the rig to the entire hull and keel. Each chainplate is reinforced in a ring frame by an individual beam, knee and laminated iroko frame, and the plates extend in one piece to the mast foot. The conventionally laid teak deck is supported by the beams, knees, covering board beam shelves and king plank.

Perkins 50hp diesel engine. Completely restored and upgraded in the 2005.

Broker's Comments

Not just restored to her former self, this yacht has had all the load bearing elements redesigned. Many of the bronze fitting had to be replaced with new, custom made to match the original colour and look.
