Description

PRELIMINARY LISTING - Additional photos and detail to be added shortly. The shipyard in England where Camper & Nicholsons is located began building ships in 1782.  In 1863 the firm Camper & Nicholson, known now as Camper and Nicholsons was founded. In the 1960's through 80's they built fine fiberglass cruising yachts.  More recently they have been building high-end custom yachts.Reportedly 20 Camper & Nicholsons 40's' were built, the first in 1978.  Based on her hull number, CHICADEE appears to be Hull #4.  Ruggedly built and finished to a high standard, she was designed for ocean cruising.   CHICADEE has had three owners.  Her first owner lived in Scotland.  Her second owner bought her in Scotland and sailed her to the U.S. Her third and current owners purchased her more than 20 years ago and have sailed her to Grenada twice.  CHICADEE appears to be in excellent condition.  She's been carefully owned and maintained by her current owners and has been upgraded over the years.  Her 44 horsepower Westerbeke diesel was installed in 2013 and has only 683 hours. CHICADEE's owners are retiring from sailboat ownership. CHICADEE is currently stored at the owners' house in Norwell, MA. Their decision to sell has created an opportunity to purchase a highly desirable yacht that only seldom becomes available for purchase. For further information, please contact John L.
