This vessel was designed by Bill Crealock and was closely patterned after one of Colin Archer’s classic double-enders. She is a class “A” sailing sloop with a cutter rig, laid up in California. PAX DEI has undergone a very thorough refit from 2009 to 2011 by a cabinetmaker whose skill at teak wood joinery was outstanding.
She is a long-keeled, double-ender designed for blue water sailing. The Westsail’s reputation for handling heavy weather is well known. The deck layout is conventional, and this vessel has a safe foredeck, not cluttered by a self-tending spar. Work on the side decks is protected by raised bulwarks at the deck edge, drains at deck level, a small open cockpit also with drains, and a small stern deck and lazarette.
She has accommodation is for 4-5 people with comfortable live-aboard facilities, including head and other washroom amenities. She is ready to take her next owners anywhere they wish to go.
