Description

If you dream of coastal cruising or racing aboard an easily handled classic that has had everything done in terms of restoration work and ongoing maintenance, RAINMAKER may be just the boat you've been waiting for.

She boasts nothing but the finest in terms of design, construction, and materials, and represents the highest possible standard of fit and finish both on deck and under the floorboards. A recent survey will attest to the lavish restoration and maintenance she has received in recent years.

Designed by the legendary naval architect William Tripp, RAINMAKER was built at the Jacobson Yard in Oyster Bay, NY in 1963.  She was constructed using only the best materials of the day. From the day she was built, her hull has always been varnished showing off her gorgeous patina. She boasts a double-planked mahogany and teak hull, bronze fastened with floors and centerboard trunk bronze as well as the board.  Strong floors and a bronze reinforced mast step support her original aluminum mast.  An oak keel with laminated stem and forefoot all go to make RAINMAKER strong, seaworthy, and a joy to own and sail.  Lift the floorboards and you will see that her keel, frames and floors are in "as new" condition.

She'll walk past a Concordia Yawl on the race course and she proved that by winning her class in the 1964 Bermuda Race. She offers luxurious and comfortable accommodations, and receives compliments wherever she goes.  RAINMAKER is a must see for anyone considering a classic and who wants to be competitive on the race course or cruise in comfort (or both!).  Her current owners have had her for the last 45 years. Having been owned by 3 sets of dedicated owners and receiving only the best care, she's in excellent condition and receives our highest recommendation.

RAINMAKER truly is drop-dead gorgeous and sails out of Kingston, Ontario.  Please call or email for a copy of the recent survey, or to arrange your inspection of this wonderful classic yacht.
