Description

Samadhi 5 is a 1988 Tayana 55 that is ready to continue cruising. Whether your plans are for long distance sailing to exotic destinations far beyond the horizon or enjoying weekends with the family tucked into your favorite peaceful anchorage, Samadhi will get you there in complete safety and comfort. The current owners have owned her for nearly 10 years and have updated her continuously. They are currently wrapping up their five year family sailing adventure. Samadhi is setup for a family or a couple to continue sailing on day one of your new boat ownership. Her engine, generator and transmission have been updated in 2019. The watermaker, stove and oven, davits system, solar panels and RIB tender were all new in 2019. Samadhi is equipped with a power tender lift that allows nearly anyone to launch or put away the tender with the outboard attached. Samadhi keeps her crew out of the weather with a large fiberglass dodger and a stainless steel framed bimini that includes a fiberglass roof. This cockpit can be fully enclosed with canvas or sunshade. Both the dodger and bimini can support the weight of large adult. Inside Samadhi offers her crew two cabins forward. To starboard are two bunks and plenty of storage for the occupants. To port is a large cabin with a double bed and loads of storage. Forward of the two cabins is a large forepeak area waiting for all your toys and gear. Aft of the two cabins is a day head to starboard and a standup tiled shower with changing area to port. The main salon offers a large dinette settee to port as well as an open sitting area to starboard. There is also a well placed navigation desk with access to radios, charts, and electrical panel. To port of the companionway is the access door to the engine room. The engine room offers 6’6” of headroom and plenty of space to work on your latest projects. The engine room has massive amounts of storage enabling all spare parts and tools to be stored in one place out of the way of living and sailing. To starboard of the companionway is the galley leading aft. A 4 burner stove with oven (new in 2019), new in 2018 countertops and an industrial sized sink make galley preparation as easy as home. A front opening refrigerator and top loading freezer offer plenty of room for your fresh foods. Leaving the galley brings you to the massive owner’s cabin. Three large hanging lockers, two large drawers and many shelves make easy work of all your clothes for different seasons. The walk-around, centerline, queen bed is unlike many you will see in even larger yachts. The master head has a full tiled shower with sitting area and again loads of storage. Samadhi has 1000amp/hr of lithium batteries that were new in 2022 as well as 870watts of solar, so power is not something you have to concern yourself with. Samadhi has 250 gallons of water tanks and a water maker that makes 30 gallons of water an hour, so water is something you do not have to concern yourself with. Her massive storage makes stocking up for long cruises easy and there is always room for more. Samadhi is fast and strong so even when the weather does not cooperate, that too is nothing to worry about Samadhi will get you there and get you there safely and in comfort with all the things you need to enjoy your time on the water.  And finally, for those looking to sail in high latitudes Samadhi is equipped with a diesel hydronic furnace. The 6 heaters throughout the boat keep her warm even with freezing temperature outside.

Manufacturer Provided Description

For its size, the Tayana 55 is perhaps the most successful yacht in the world, with over 80 boats built to date. The Tayana 55 provides the space and sailing performance of most yachts over 65 feet. The Tayana 55 even features a walk-in engine room. The spacious galley and storage capacity equates to long-term cruising in style. Last years Round the World Cruising Rally was won by a Tayana 55. The 1995 Caribbean 1500 was won by a Tayana 55 as well. Deck space that seems endless and a functional, low silhouette give the Tayana 55 its distinctive look. CONSTRUCTION Solid fiberglass hull, hand laminated according to Lloyds specifications. A matrix of longitudinal and transverse foam-cored stringers in the lower hull providing maximum hull stiffness. Internal cast iron ballast glassed into a modified fin keel with choice of drafts. Skeg-mounted rudder, with internal stainless steel rudder post and integral stainless steel reinforcement. The deck is a composite construction using closed cell foam and end-grain light wood sandwich coring. All deck hardware areas are reinforced using encapsulated marine grade plywood. Deck hardware is through-bolted using stainless steel backing plates.
