Sweden Yachts 50

This Sweden Yachts 50, built in 1990, has recently undergone a substantial refit, resulting in a rather long list of improvements. These beautiful yachts possess all the characteristics that only the Swedes can provide. She is exceptionally well-prepared and ready to go!

Construction

RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• White GRP hull with blue style lines.
• Hull and deck in GRP sandwich construction with balsa core.
• Toe rail in aluminium.
• Flexiteek deck (2022).
• Chain plates removed and rebedded with new bolts (2022).
• Bilges painted (2021).

 

Keel & Rudder:

• Cast lead wing keel, 6.5 tonnes.
• Draft of 1.98m.
• Keel removed for inspection, refitted and faired (2022). Photographic inspection of keel bolts available.
• Balanced spade rudder with stainless steel rudder stock.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

• 1 x Yanmar 4GM 110hp (2022) including all fuel lines, valves, filter system, raw water strainer and exhaust system.
• Engine located below saloon floor for very quiet operation.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

• Engine hours – approx. 10 as of September 2023.
• Cruising speed – approx. 7 knots @ 2400rpm.
• Maximum speed – approx. 8.8 knots @ 3400rpm.
• Fuel consumption at cruising speed – approx. 8 litres per hour.
• Range @ cruising speed – 300 nm.
• New hull anodes and International antifoul (2023).

 

Propulsion & Steering:

• Feather stream 4 blade propeller (2022).
• New shaft, stern gland, cutlass bearing and rope cutter (2022).
• Steering stripped, adjusted and overhauled new drive chain (2022).

Voltage Systems:

• 24vDC domestic system with 220v ring main from generator, invertor or shorepower.

• 3 x 115Ah 24vDC domestic (2023).
• 1 x 110Ah 12v DC main engine start (2023).
• 1 x 55Ah 12v DC generator start (2023).

 

Battery Chargers:

• 2 x Victron smart battery charger (2023).

• 1 x 12v engine alternator (2022).

• 32” AVTEX smart TV fitted on adjustable mount to saloon bulkhead 2022 (240 or 24V )

Accommodation

• Optional extra upper bunk in aft starboard
• Blue alcantara upholstery on seating and mattresses, no wear or marks.
• Master cabin with Dux mattress.
• Woodwork in mahogany newly varnished in matt (2022).
• Cabin sole of teak with holly strips varnished in gloss (2016).
• New water resistant cream carpets and curtains professionally installed (2023).
• New professionally fitted headlining in white with teak batons (2023).
• All berths have lee cloths.
• Hanging lockers in all cabins and all fitted with lights.

 

Description of layout from forwards:

• Full beam full depth sail locker aft of anchor locker with flush hatch.
• Forward is the owner’s cabin with en-suite heads in the bow including a separate shower area. Offset queen berth to port with custom DUX mattress and to starboard a sofa and dressing table/desk.
• Large full beam saloon, dining area to port with seating for 8-10 around a large varnished table with fiddles. To starboard is a long sofa that also doubles up as a great pilot berth.
• Aft of the saloon is the galley to starboard, which is a traditional shape with Corian worktops and a large pull out area for extra workspace. 1 x day fridge, 1 x deep freezer, pull out galley hood extractor, gas oven with 2 x hob burners. 12 x Solid wood draws and cupboards with dividers, twin bowl stainless steel sink with seawater tap and foot pumps.
• Opposite to starboard is the navigation station with newly reupholstered swivel armchair. Heated and fan ventilated drying locker adjacent to nav. station.
• Aft starboard is a double and bunk bed above making 3-berths in one cabin. Access direct to aft heads with pull out sink shower and ventilation fan.
• Port aft sleeping cabin double berth with direct access to aft heads. Pocket sprung mattress.

Rig:
