Built locally in 1981 by John Evetts of British Columbia, Red Baron was one of a dozen Evetts 31’s produced. Based on the winning Scampi design, Red Baron is well balanced and a joy to sail. Red Baron was owned and successfully raced by John Evetts for several years before she went to her second owner.
Most of the deck gear has been replaced, including Anderson winches, Spinlock clutches, and Harken windward sheeting traveler. Standing rigging, sails, blocks, sheaves and running rigging have also been replaced. Sails are Carbon and Aramid laminate with taffeta. Teak Interior with Sunbrella Cushions.
She has been re-powered with a 20hp Yanmar, and has a max prop. A majority of the electrical system has been upgraded, including two battery banks and an onboard charger. Vessel is equipped with a gimbaled three burner range, an AC/DC cooler style fridge/freezer, forced air diesel heat, and an enclosed head.
