This is the first time the more than spectacular Swan 90S, PANACEA, has come onto the brokerage market. PANACEA is owned by a most knowledgeable yachtsman who did his homework and invested a considerable amount of time and research before construction started. The result is a yacht that has one of the most impressive specifications for any Swan to ever come out of the Nautor facility. PANACEA is the popular "S" deck model and she is the last Swan 90 ever built. As just a small part of her optional specification PANACEA has the following: carbon/epoxy hull laminate, bow thruster, carbon mast with carbon standing rigging, Park Ave in-boom furling, waste treatment plant and frequency converter. PANACEA from day one has always been maintained with a "no holds barred" approach to ensure she is always on the cutting edge of modern technology and maintained to the highest of levels. Make no mistake, PANACEA is a rarity.  She is ready to cruise any part of the world in style, comfort and with the classic performance one expects from a Swan.

HULL

Infusion molded carbon/epoxy cored laminate.

White painted topsides.

Fin keel with optional 4m, shallower than standard, draft.

Keel lead ballast attached to a steel fin.

Full height transom, as opposed to optional cut down transom.

Hydraulically opening transom door, with pneumatic seal, that allows access to storage area.

Opening transom also becomes a swim platform.

Carbon fiber portable folding passarelle.

6 x hull windows, 3 on each side, 2 for the saloon, 2 for the owner's cabin and 1 in each midship guest cabin.

Structural bulkheads are pre-preg foam cored carbon sandwich construction laminated to hull and deck.

All hull stiffeners are carbon fiber reinforced.

Hollow stringers and web frames double up as ventilation and cable conduits.

Engine beds are integrated into the hull stiffeners.

Bottom is treated at time of build with 4 layers of Gelsheild epoxy primer.

Twin JP3 titanium 5 spoke steering wheels each with leather cover.

Carbon fiber with epoxy skin over foam core rudders.

Rudder is designed to break away before the rudder stock.

Weed deflector at top of rudder.

2 x self aligning JP3 rudder bearings.

Bronze through hull fittings all insulated from the carbon hull laminate.

DECK

Main deck is carbon fiber pre-preg sandwich construction with honeycomb core. 

High density foam core under deck fittings.

Coachroof deck and coamings are of infusion molded carbon fiber reinforced vinylester with low density foam core.

12mm teak decking instead of standard 9mm except on bridge deck and cockpit seats. 

Grey caulking between teak deck planks, serviced in 2019.

Shine areas of deck are painted white.

Hydraulically operated titanium anchoring arm for stowing the bow anchor in the deck locker.

Harken jib sheet tracks.

Harken cars with hydraulic adjustment.

Harken double foot blocks for jib and staysail sheets.

Harken running rigging blocks throughout.

Bow and stern rails and stanchions to MCA standard increased height of 950mm.

Dyform lifelines.

8 x mooring cleats, 2 x on foredeck, 4 amidships, 2 x aft.

Fairleads for mooring cleats.

Hand rail on centerline between cockpits. 

Handrails outboard of cockpit seats.

2 x Harken B1110.3 STAAC HLHY 3 speed primary.

2 x Harken B1110.3 STCAC HLHY 3 speed secondary.

2 x Harken 990.3STA 3 speed halyard near mast.

1 x captive Lewmar LMS 6000 mounted underdeck for 1:1 mainsail sheeting.

1 x additional main halyard winch, CW6000, for boom furling.

1 x Lewmar vertical V8 hydraulic windlass with remote controls on a wandering lead. 

Stainless steel covers for all winch switches.  

ACCOMMODATIONS

GENERAL ARRANGEMENT

Sleeps up to 11 in 4 separate sleeping cabins. 2 in the master cabin and 3 in each of the three guest cabins. Crew cabin forward sleeps up to 4. Each cabin has it's own head for a total of 5 heads. Interior wood is teak that has been white stained and finished with Osmo wax. Overheads are vinyl. Floor boards are foam cored with teak and koto wood upper surface. Bulkheads are covered with a noise barrier and separate skin panels. The headroom height has been increased throughout the yacht where possible.

FO'C'SLE

Accessed from deck level. Folding work bench with a vice.

CREW CABIN

Accessed via the galley on the port side. Crew head area forward. "L" settee to port with table. Folding pullman bunk above settee. Bunk to starboard with folding pullman bunk above. All berths fitted with lee cloths. Drawers under the lower berths. Hanging locker forward on the starboard side. Washer and dryer on the port side aft.

GALLEY

Located aft of the crew cabin on the port side with access to the crew cabin forward and the saloon aft. 2 integral sinks with erator and dishwasher are located inboard, The Miele 4 burner stove with electric oven, microwave oven, fridge and freezer are located outboard. The ship's main electrical panel is located aft and outboard. Corian counter tops. Ample stowage space in drawers below the counter tops and lockers above. Additional storage under the floor boards. 2 front loading fridges upgraded to air cooled. 2 front loading freezers. 4 x burner induction stove oven and exhaust hood above. 

FORWARD MIDSHIP GUEST CABIN

Located opposite the galley on the starboard side. Accessed from the saloon. Ensuite head with separate stall shower. Double berth with drawers under. Folding pullman berth above. Hanging locker forward.

SALOON

Located aft of the galley and forward midships guest cabin and up 2 steps. "U" shaped settee to port with some stowage under surrounding a dining table. 3 independent chairs inboard. "L" settee to starboard with some stowage under surrounding a coffee table with extension insert leaves. Both tables may be electrically height adjusted as well as inboard and outboard adjusted. Lockers outboard and forward both sides. Lockers aft to port. Glass locker storage aft. Entertainment equipment locker forward. 

NAVIGATION STATION

Located in the aft starboard corner of the saloon. Outboard facing. Separate chair may be relocated to dining table.

AFT MIDSHIP GUEST CABINS

Located aft of the saloon and down 3 steps. 1 to port and 1 to starboard, mirror imaged. Each with ensuite head and stall shower. 2 single berths in each cabin with filler to make a double. Folding pullman berth inboard in each cabin. Hanging locker in each cabin. Clothes bars in each shower to hang wet foul weather gear.

MASTER CABIN

Located aft with ensuite head and stall shower. Custom oversized king berth on centerline. Double settee to starboard. Outboard facing vanity/work desk to port. Side table at the head of the bed each side. 2 full length hanging lockers. Lockers aft on each side.

ENGINE, THRUSTERS AND HYDRAULICS

Volvo Penta D4-225 225HP at 3500rpm.

Directly mounted, electrically operated ZF45-1 reduced 3.741:1 gear box.

Drive shaft is an Aquadrive CVB 32.30 down angled 5degrees.

Stainless steel propeller shaft.

Water lubricated rubber bearings for propeller shaft at strut and stern tube.

4 x blade folding Brunton Varifold propeller 762 x 584.

Dual fuel/water separators on main engine allowing for continuous use during filter element changes.

Single fuel/water separators on generators.

Fuel tanks equipped with hatches large enough to allow for inspection and cleaning.

Optional day tank with transfer pump added.

Bladder fuel tanks available for long distance trips stored on deck.

Halyard wet exhaust system for engine and generators separates the exhaust water from the exhaust gases. Water exhausts below the water line, gases exhaust under the transom.

Reverso oil change pump for engine and generators.

Engine controls in starboard cockpit coaming.

THRUSTERS

Hundested retractable FT2R bow thruster.

Thruster is powered by hydraulic pumps off the generators. 

HYDRAULICS

Bosche-Rexroth custom design hydraulic system.

2 x different hydraulic power sources for the system are 1) a generator PTO on each generator and 2) a DC electric back-up pump. 

Designed with regional located valve groups to minimize weight, electric power, noise and vibration while maximizing hydraulic movement. 

Hydraulic functions are:

Forward mooring winch.

Anchor windlass.

Jib furler.

Anchor swing arm.

Bow and stern thruster, thrust.

Bow and stern thruster up/down.

Mainsail outhaul.

Inner forestay tensioner.

Jib car pullers, port and starboard.

Jib halyard tensioner.

Boom vang.

All winches.

Cunningham.

Backstay.

Autopilot backup.

Transom hatch/swim platform open/close.

PLUMBING AND VENTILATION

Pressurized hot and cold fresh water throughout the vessel for all heads, galley, on deck shower and bar. Additionally, there is pressure fresh cold water to deck wash forward and aft.  

Fresh water filler line leads to a valve chest feeding each tank and water pressure pumps.

Separate city water connection. 

2 x stainless steel fresh water tanks.

Tanks have baffles, inspection ports, level indicators with readout at switch board and vent pipes.

Stainless steel water heater with water heated either via the engine cooling system or AC heating element.

Idromar MC2 duplex water maker.

There is a second backup water maker.

Hamann waste water treatment plant.

With the treatment plant, the grey water tank has been repurposed as a diesel fuel tank adding 300 liters of fuel.

Sea water fire/anchor wash forward and aft.

Sea water fire hydrants with reels forward and aft.

Optional Planus Arctic electric heads.

2 x stainless steel black water tanks 200 liters each.

Emergency bilge pump off main engine.
