Description

Meticulously maintained and packed with Updated Equipment for Offshore Cruising and Racing this J/120, ‘Vamoose’ (Hull #117), is one of the finest J/120’s on the water today! The original owner, in Massachusetts, raced the boat and had a full crew that commissioned, professionally maintained and de-commissioned the boat annually. ‘Vamoose’ has a record for winning races on the East Coast including a Class Win in the 2017 Marblehead to Halifax Race, 1st & 2nd Place in the Ida Lewis Distance Race, 3rd in Class for the Newport to Bermuda Race and 3rd Place in the 2018 Onion Patch Series from Newport to Bermuda. The current owner bought ‘Vamoose’ on the East Coast in 2019, shipped the boat to Washington State and has been sailing local waters and continuing to upgrade the boat with modern efficient systems for extended cruising with top quality equipment.J/120’s have a stellar reputation for being fast and comfortable performance sailboats that are equally comfortable on the race course as they are sailing from harbor to horizon. ‘Vamoose’ has upgraded equipment on board including: an Extensive B&G Racing and Cruising Electronics Package, a vast North 3Di Sail Inventory, Hydraulic Auto Pilot, 4G Radar, Modern Refrigeration with Keel Cooler, Efficient Carbon-Foam Battery System (that allows up to 3 days sitting at anchor without charging), High Power Alternator, Electric Windlass, Hydronic Cabin Heating, Water-Maker, 38HP Yanmar Diesel Engine in excellent running condition, Stainless Water Heater (heated by AC, Engine, or Hydronic Heating System) for a near endless water supply, LED Lighting, and Much More! (See ‘Other Details’)The roomy and comfortable cockpit has an Oversized 48” Helm, B&G Chart Plotter, Compass, Primary and Secondary Self-Tailing 2-Speed Winches, Full Cushions, and Dodger w/ an Integral Cockpit Awning. Also in the Cockpit is a Hot and Cold Pressure Shower, Two-Tank Propane Locker, Lazarette, Radar Tower with a  Gimballing Radar Mount, an Outboard Engine Crane and More! The decks are incredibly well designed for maneuvering from the Cockpit to the side decks and fore-deck with lots of hand holds and Double Stainless Steel Line Lines (cushioned in the Cockpit Area). The Extending Bow Sprit is launched and retrieved from the Cockpit. Full Racing/Cruising Navigation Data is displayed above the Companionway Hatch as well as on 3 B&G 20/20 Mast Displays.Accommodations:Sleeps 7: Between Two Double Berths, Two Settee Berths and an Optional Flip-Up Pilot Berth.Going down below, the L-Shaped Galley is immediately to port with a Double Stainless Steel Sink with Hot and Cold Pressure Water and Manual Fresh Water Foot Pump, 2-Burner LPG Stove and Oven, Upgraded Refrigerator and Freezer, Trash Compartment and lots of Storage in Slide Cabinets, Drawers and Cubbies. Aft of the Galley through a small opening door is a Storage Area/Closet with side access to the Engine, the Battery System, Sail Storage etc. This area can also be accessed from the port Cockpit Locker. To starboard is the Navigation Station with a Full B&G Electronics Package, Bass Breaker Panel with Professional Wiring Installation, Fusion Stereo System, Hand Held FOBS for the Auto Pilot and Anchor Winch, and Storage.Aft of the Navigation Station is the Private Aft Cabin with a Double Berth with Lee Cloths, Hanging Locker, Venting Port Lights and access to the Engine.Going forward is a large well-lit Salon with Blue Ultrasuede Upholstered Settees on starboard and port and a Folding Table (with Racing Cover) centerline. Both Settees are comfortable Sea Berths with Lee Cloths. There is also an optional Bunk Berth that flips-up above the starboard Settee. There is lots of Storage in the Salon in Bookshelves, Cabinets and under the Settee’s. The Flat Screen TV also acts as a Repeater for the B&G Chart Plotter. A Diesel Hydronic Heater keeps the boat toasty. There are also eight opening Port Lights throughout the Interior and two Overhead Opening Hatches to keep the boat cool in warm weather. There are two Doors forward of the Salon; the starboard door takes you into the Private Head that hosts a C-Head Composting Toilet (ask us why we love these), Sink with Hot and Cold Pressure Water, Shower, Mirrors, Port Light and Storage in Cabinets. The Water-Maker is smartly installed under the Head Sink. The previous head system has been completely removed (holding tank, hoses, head, smells etc.) and the space where the holding tank was, under the forward berth, is now open storage. The Head can also be accessed from the Forward Cabin Area which is accessed through the port door from the Salon. Immediately upon entering there is a Hanging Locker to port as well as an Upholstered Seat. To starboard is a Set of Drawers and Counter Space with Storage. The V-Berth is long and wide with good lightening through the overhead hatch and LED Fixtures that are installed throughout the boat.‘Vamoose’ is in sail-ready condition! It would be challenging to find a J/120 that’s been better outfitted and equipped on the water today!Showings available by appointment, thank you!Show More
