Introducing Finistère

Early Bird Oriental Boat Show Price of $10,000 off through April 15, 2024,

A Buy it Now Price without Further Negotiations

Recent electronics upgrade and bottom paint with a September 2023 seller pre-listing survey.

You will find this exceptionally clean and classic beauty equipped and ready to go this season. With fresh brightwork and recent bottom paint, she is priced to sell so the current owners can pursue their next chapter. Finistère is nestled in her protected slip at the beautiful Grace Harbor of River Dunes, the award-winning waterfront boating community located on the Neuse River and ICW, where you will be just a ten minute drive to Oriental, the sailing capital of North Carolina.

From Canada to Florida and the Bahamas, this 1988 Gozzard has traveled many nautical miles with its dedicated owners. Perfect for a couple or small family sailing in either blue water, cruising up and down the ICW or exploring river inlets, as well as for hosting friends for a day sail in the bay or sound, Finistère is a worthy vessel well laid out for your comfort, security and safe voyages.

Named for the department of Finistère, the northwestern tip of Brittany, France, and derived from the latin finis terrae meaning end of the earth, this vessel illustrates the graceful lines of a cutter-rigged yacht, rigged with two forward sails, allowing easy sailing options in addition to the mainsail. Many seasoned sailors believe a cutter-rigged vessel is the most versatile to be found on a cruising boat, and the current owners have enjoyed nine years aboard.

Topside, she has one of the most spacious aft cockpits available on a vessel of this size, offering a full bimini (with a zip-off connector to the dodger) constructed with plenty of standing room for tall captains, and making for an easy sail while underway behind the large teak ship's wheel and center console. The fold down walk-thru transom with S/S swim ladder makes man-over-board recovery and boarding the dinghy easy (especially with a dog or supplies). A built in hot and cold fresh water cockpit shower is located under the folded swim ladder to port. She offers substantial lazarette storage for all tools and cleaning supplies, and seating capacity for 10+ people, with a table allowing buffet or sit-down options for entertainment. A Magma grill with mounting arm is included for cockpit grilling while at anchor. There are substantial bulwarks around the side and forward decks for secure footing. Hand rails are conveniently placed. Forward, she offers space for lounging in front of the coachroof, and the walkable bow pulpit where the anchors are stowed provides safe, easy access for mooring and anchoring. The large foredeck locker offers storage for fenders, wash down hose, shore power lines and dock lines. The bowsprit platform has slotted teak toeboards that allow access to the anchor rollers and genoa rolling furler.

Please contact the broker for the extensive owner's operation and maintenance manual. All items onboard convey.

Accommodations

Belowdeck, from the cockpit down the comfortable three-step center-line companionway, you will discover a unique and spacious open floor plan with 6 feet 4 inches of headroom. Per your preference and requirements, this area can be transformed by raisable bulkheads and maneuverable doors into three private cabins with sleeping accommodations for up to five persons. Looking forward from the companionway, and starboard-side aft you will find the navigation station with desk, folding chart table, instrument panel and a very generous quarter berth. The large head with sliding door for privacy is port-side aft with sink and vanity, toilet and shower, and additional storage space is in cabinets, drawers and behind the vanity. Amidship to port, the sizable L-shaped galley with nice workspace and tiled backsplash offers ample storage with upper and lower cabinets for all of your kitchen needs and dry goods and includes a top-loading refrigerator with cold-plate, a single S/S sink with fresh and sea water spigots, and a gimbaled LPG stove with three burners and an oven. Located across from the galley is the dining salon that easily accommodates four persons around the expandable and collapsible table or converts to a double berth. In addition there are more seating options forward for six adults in the main cabin with a V-shape of two settees that easily convert from a sitting room during the day into the captain's quarters at night, accommodating two more in a queen berth. You will find additional dry storage behind and below each settee and below the main cabin floor, as well as a closet, built in drawers and a sizable athwartship hanging locker. For your entertainment a swing-arm TV/DVD and sound system is included.

Finistère has many additional amenities including AC and heating while at dock. The comfortable upholstery is in a soft, light blue-green high-quality cotton chenille. This practical color and fabric is easily cleaned and in great shape, and extra fabric is onboard. All ports are workable, covered by crisp white curtains that provide privacy, and the Brazilian mahogany bulkheads are in excellent condition with recent varnishing. Butterfly hatches located in the galley and main cabin offer terrific lighting and open easily for circulation.
