Description

By the end of 1997 more than 6,400 Catalina 30s had been built. This is an impressive number, but it becomes even more remarkable when looked at in perspective. Consider that you could combine the production of ten of the most popular 30 foot model sailboats built in the North America over the last 25 years and still not approach the number of Catalina 30s built. Catalina literature boasts this is the most popular 30 foot boat worldwide, a claim that would be hard to argue. Her cockpit has a comfortable T-shaped layout and beneath the starboard and aft bench is a hatch to storage areas. She has a pedestal steering column with a full set of electronics and an excellent view forward. The cockpit is self-bailing with an emergency manual bilge pump. The double-wide companionway provides access below decks as well as great ventilation. Upon entering the salon is the wooden stairs, the galley is to the immediate port. The U-shaped galley is positioned close to the salon dinette. The galley features a gas three-burner stove and oven, double stainless-steel sink, mica countertops, refrigerated icebox, shelves, drawer, and cabinet storage.Across from the galley is a navigation station. The nav station is equipped with updated VHF, shelving, cabinet storage, the AC main breaker, and the battery switch. Forward of the galley is the L-shaped settee with a table that can be converted into a double berth. Behind the seatback are storage areas with shelving and portholes above. The enclosed head has a sink with faucet, manual flush toilet, mirror, molded shower pan, opening porthole for natural light and ventilation, and cabinet storage. The double V-berth contains storage beneath the base. In the companionway, there is a chest with drawers and a hanging locker for clothes and personal items. Additional sleeping is provided via the double quarter berth located behind the nav station.CAYMAN’WENT has undergone a number of upgrades over the last few years and boats a very good 2022 Insurance Survey.
