Description

The Cape George 38 for sale, built in 1988, was built for long navigations of the prestigious American shipyard CAPE GEORGE MARINE WORKS of Port Townsend (WA). The measurements are 11.83 m x 3.55 x 1.80 m (with bowsprit 13.40 m). Displacement is 14 tons, lead ballast incorporated in the long keel.

The boat boasts a perfectly designed deck layout, facilitating easy navigation from bow to stern. Wide side decks, a low-profile cabin house, and a spacious cockpit equipped with cushions, and a large Bimini featuring side walls enhance comfort and accessibility. Below deck, the layout is impressively spacious and well-organized. The salon features a dinette with two convertible sofas, while the galley is fully equipped with two burners, an oven, a boiler, and ample storage in cabinets and drawers. A generously sized head, complete with a shower, portlight, and additional storage, adds to the onboard convenience. Forward lies a large V-berth, offering storage space and natural light through an overhead hatch.

The cockpit, adorned with teak decking in excellent condition, features wheel steering and is efficiently designed for sail trimming and relaxation. Wide side decks, complemented by numerous handholds and stainless steel lifelines, ensure easy maneuverability fore and aft. The spacious foredeck includes a bow pulpit encircling the bow sprit, enhancing safety during sail handling maneuvers underway.

These boats consistently demonstrate their comfort and capability as blue-water cruising sailboats, establishing themselves as formidable contenders for global racing endeavors.
