De EH6

is oorspronkelijk in 1934 in Lemmer gebouwd als een zg. melkschouw, die de melk van de wei in Friesland naar de melkfabriek bracht. Daarom is het scheepje ook vrij smal (3m) voor zijn lengte (9.3m) om door alle kleine bruggen en sluizen te passen. De romp is op het oog gebouwd, zonder enige vorm van bouwplan, het is nergens recht en geen twee stukken zijn gelijk (BB vs. SB).

Later is het schip in Urk als visserman gevaren, en daarna in Enkhuizen, vandaar ook de naam. 

In de oorlog heeft het schip onder water gelegen en men heeft het in de jaren vijftig weer gevonden. De romp bleek nog goed en het is in 1957 verbouwd tot zeiljacht met een kajuit. 

In de jaren zestig is de Nederlandse mijnenveger ‘de Badjang’ uit Indonesië naar den Helder teruggekeert en afgewrakt. Delen van het interieur zijn in de EH6 verwerkt.

Der EH6

wurde ursprünglich 1934 in Lemmer als so genannte Milchschouw gebaut, die Milch von den Weiden in Friesland zur Milchfabrik brachte. Daher ist das kleine Schiff auch ziemlich schmal (3 m) für seine Länge (9,3 m), um durch all die kleinen Brücken und Schleusen zu passen. Der Rumpf wurde nach Augenmaß gebaut, ohne jeglichen Bauplan, er ist nirgends gerade und keine zwei Teile sind gleich (BB vs. SB).

Später fuhr das Schiff als Fischer in Urk und dann in Enkhuizen, daher der Name.

Während des Krieges wurde das Schiff versenkt und erst in den 1950er Jahren wiedergefunden. Der Rumpf erwies sich als noch gut und wurde 1957 zu einer Segelyacht mit Kajüte umgebaut.

In den 1960er Jahren wurde das niederländische Minenräumboot Badjang" aus Indonesien nach Den Helder zurückgebracht und abgewickelt. Teile der Innenausstattung wurden in das EH6 eingebaut.

The EH6

was originally built in 1934 in Lemmer as a so-called milkschouw, taking milk from the pasture in Friesland to the milk factory. Therefore, the little ship is also quite narrow (3m) for its length (9.3m) to fit through all the small bridges and locks. The hull was built by eye, without any kind of construction plan, it is nowhere straight and no two pieces are the same (BB vs. SB).

Later the ship sailed in Urk as a fisherman, and then in Enkhuizen, hence the name.

During the war the ship was submerged and people found it again in the 1950s. The hull turned out to be still good and it was converted into a sailing yacht with a cabin in 1957.

In the 1960s, the Dutch minesweeper "the Badjang" was returned to den Helder from Indonesia and wound down. Parts of the interior have been incorporated into the EH6.
