Description

'Independence', a Gary Mull designed Freedom 45 Center Cockpit is beautifully maintained and offers a spacious and most comfortable and clean interior. Rigged to be easily sailed single-handed, this vessel features an uncluttered deck with a freestanding carbon fiber spar, wing keel, shoal draft, new canvas, and low engine hours. 'Independence' is Chesapeake Bay kept and loved by her current owners. A change in life plans is bringing her to market.

Accommodations and Layout

The center cockpit layout offers two private staterooms, large, spacious salon, two heads, U-shaped galley, and chart table. There is custom LED lighting throughout.

The forward cabin with 6'2" headroom, presents a large V-berth with private access to the salon and forward head. Interior woodwork is varnished cherry, and the cabin sole is varnished teak and holly. There is a large opening deck hatch and two stainless steel opening ports for ambient light and ventilation. For storage, to port, is a hanging locker with teak louvered door, a four-drawer cabinet, and two drawers under the V-berth. The forward head includes a manual head, vanity with sink, shower with teak grate, opening deck hatch and stainless steel opening port.

The spacious, well-designed salon with 6'6" headroom, offers an L-shaped settee to starboard; a teak, island table with a hinged leaf that opens across the salon to the port settee to accommodate 8-10 guests; and a cherry, custom-built entertainment center. Interior woodwork is varnished cherry and the sole is varnished teak and holly. Ample storage is provided throughout the salon in teak cabinets above both port and starboard settees, as well as underneath both settees. Settee cushions are new. Ventilation is provided by two deck hatches, and four stainless steel opening ports, with four fixed ports for natural lighting.

The U-shaped galley is well-arranged with counter-access refrigerated ice box; gimballed propane oven/stove; large stainless steel sink with stainless steel washboard on centerline; ample storage lockers; drawers above and below counters; teak and holly sole; deck hatch; and stainless steel opening port.

The master aft cabin is stunning with a centerline, queen berth, teak and holly sole and 6'2" headroom. Storage is provided by two storage drawers, built under the forward facing of the berth, a hanging locker with teak, louvered door, and counters with cherry cabinets and storage drawers, outboard to port and starboard of the berth. A large deck hatch and seven stainless steel opening ports ventilate the cabin. The ensuite head features a manual head, counter, vanity/sink, mirror, and separate shower stall with teak grating.
