Description

Derecktor built, Scott Kaufman designed aluminum hulled world cruising Passagemaker.

Alma Guapa was moderately damaged in Hurricane Irma, she lost her radar arch and wind generator pole, we have images to correctly represent the damage and attention needed.   Hence the very attractive price.  Given her aluminum hull damage can be easily addressed,  was non structural and will require filling fairing and recoating at sites on the hull where dragging vessels struck her.

Comments on keel modifications

Originally they all had deep keel 8´4” on the 46’ - As owner I had the chance to talk with Scott Kaufman Naval Architect designer of the vessel, and several Swan offerings in 2010.   Obviously, these boats were to offshore race, so inshore navigation was not a plan, thus 8’4“.   Owner before me had keel reduced to 7´and compensated with bulb.   Rudder is almost as deep as keel, about 1’ short.   In rough seas the boat handles amazingly well.   Had 50-55knots for 24hrs between Halifax and Azores.   Never lost control. Autopilot did 50% of time - we did 50% so to keep busy.
