Description

The Cape Dory Typhoon, Americas littlest Yacht, is one of the most popular sailboats ever built. The Typhoon is a joy to sail for beginner and expert alike. Carl Alberg designed her that way. The Typhoon's "full keel", with 900 Ibs. of molded-in ballast gives the Typhoon the feel of a larger boat, with the steadiness and stability not found in many larger designs.

Fay's Boat Yard took one of these classic Typhoon Weekenders, restored it, and more. We had brought this boat back to it's original condition, and added some upgrades in fittings for stylish improvements, and equipment upgrades for ease of sailing. The boat had been gone over from stem to stern, and from the deck to the bottom. The owner has used it for the last 9 years, and is now selling it. He has kept the boat is pristine condition, and has had us do regular aesthetic maintenance each year. At the time, the deck and topsides were completely done over and completed with an Awl Grip finish. The bottom had been finished with a VC performance epoxy. Some of the original fittings were improved upon, including brass ports, as well as Harken Brass winches. All of the running and standing rigging was new when we did the refit. The mast had been finished and painted. The sails were new, and it include a Harken Roller Furling jib. It also includes a custom winter cover. If you had purchased this boat new in 1972, it would not have been as well finished and equipped as this boat. It comes on a Triad trailer, which we also went over front to back. This boat is a must see for the sailor who will appreciate the beauty of this classic.
