Beautiful sailing vessel in very good condition, much loved and well maintained!

This gently used 1977 Rafiki 37 designed by Stan Huntingford is a solidly built bluewater boat that will take you around the world and back, currently located in Bay City Michigan.

THE HULL IS A ONE-PIECE FULL AIREX CORED WITH ALTERNATE LAYERS OF 24 OZ. WOVEN ROVING AND 1.5 OZ. MAT 12 LAYERS TOTAL, FORWARD SCROLLWORK, COVE STRIPE, BOOT TOP, SIMULATED PLANKING.


THE DECKS ARE TEAK DECK OVERLAY, 5/8", BEDDED IN THIOKOL, FASTENED WITH PAN HEAD SELF-TAPPING S.S. SCREWS. THE DECKS, CABIN TRUNK, AND COCKPIT ARE INTEGRALLY MOULDED (ONE PIECE) USING VERTICAL GRAIN CORING (3/4"). THE HULL-DECK MOULDINGS OVERLAP FOR THE FULL HEIGHT OF THE BULWARKS AND ARE PERMANENTLY BONDED TOGETHER.

BALLAST IS 11,500 LBS., CAST IRON, ENCAPSULATED, AND FIBERGLASS LAMINATED TO THE HULL WITH TOP SEALED.

SPARS AND RIGGING ARE 6061 T 6 TYPE ALUMINUM ALLOY MAST WITH DOUBLE SPREADERS; MAIN BOOM AND STAYSAIL BOOM. ALL SPARS ARE PAINTED WITH WHITE LINEAR POLYURETHANE. MAST HAS A SEPARATE STORM TRYSAIL TRACK. DOUBLE BALE AT MASTHEAD. FOUR 8" CLEATS AND THREE 6" CLEATS. THE MAIN BOOM HAS AN INTERNAL OUTHAUL, JIFFY REEFING WINCH, SHEET STOPPER, 2 REEFING CLEATS. STAYSAIL BOOM IS MOUNTED ON A STAINLESS STEEL PEDESTAL AND HAS AN ADJUSTABLE CLEW OUTHAUL. U.S. STAINLESS STEEL 1 X 19 SHROUDS AND STAYS, NAVTEC STAINLESS STEEL NON GALLING TURNBUCKLES. ALL STANDING RIGGING IS TOGGLED.

VENTILATION: 15 OPENING PORTS IN CABIN AND HULL. ALL FORWARD PORTS HAVE DEADLIGHTS. ALL PORTS ARE DOUBLE-DOGGED AND SCREENED. TWO TRANSLUCENT, TEAK FRAMED HATCHES IN CABIN ROOF, SCREENED. SLIDING TEAK MAIN COMPANIONWAY HATCH, MUSHROOM VENTILATORS (2) IN STERN.

RUDDER IS MOULDED, CORED, FIBERGLASS BLADE. 3" MAXIMUM SECTION. 1% TEAK CHEEKS, S.S.. BOLTED WITH CAP NUTS, 3 CAST BRONZE GUDGEONS, AND S.S. PINTLES. STAINLESS STEEL TILLER HEAD WITH SOLID TEAK TILLER ARM. PINRAIL FOR TILLER PLACEMENT.
