This Formosa 47 (LOA 54) is located in Gloucester MA.Named Tatanka, Native American for Buffalo, a most revered animal in Native American culture. It's a fitting name for this robust Taiwanese vessel, suitable for sailing around the world - which is exactly what the previous owner did. A complete circumnavigation.The materials below reflect the thought that went into the design of this Formosa 47, with warm, carefully built cabinetry, drawers and teak and holly sole below, with an eye for detail. This will make a great blue water cruiser, live aboard, or perhaps a great charter vessel.She has been covered and on the hard for more than 10 years, and in the past 2 years has had a number of upgrades:New jib and mainsailNew DodgerNew BiminiShe is a cutter rig providing a variety of sail configurations when under way.She is powered by an inboard 6 cylinder Ford Lehman Model2712E diesel engine. She also has aFischer Panda 4kw generatorThe aluminum mast is keel stepped and there is a Harken spinnaker pole track on themast with an extruded aluminum boom. There is a spinnaker pole.The stays are stainless steel wireand replaced around 2000.The turnbuckles are stainless steel open barrel designChainplates appear to be in good condition.On the deck forward there are two Schaefer single line furlers.All halyards and sheets  are colored braid and appear to be in good condition.The life lines are stainless steel.There are five Aqualast and Barlow winches on both sides of the cockpit.
