The knowledgeable owners of this Slocum 42 have maintained her to go cruising, its ready to sail anywhere.  The owners have kept her in good shape, and properly maintained. All equipment both original and added are in good working order.

This yacht is an exemplary example of a classic offshore design, incorporating a warm, roomy and one of the most comfortable interiors available in her class. Both seaworthiness and her generous interior space provide the steady, comfortable and safe cruising provided by this sturdy double-ender designed by well-regarded Naval Architect Stan Huntingford. The vast interior space below decks provides comfortable accommodations and extensive storage. Two comfortable staterooms, full head with tub and shower, and well equipped spacious off-shore galley.

Her large water and fuel capacities, cutter rig, tumble home stern, bulwarks, dorades, many opening ports with screens, stout rigging and quality construction make this blue water voyager a modern classic. An electric windlass and large sail inventory provide additional convenience and cruising options.

Below the water line the hull shows a fine entry with a long cutaway forefoot followed by an efficient modern keel, and a deep profile skeg-hung rudder just forward of a tapered stern section. This design combination clearly distinguishes the Slocum 42 from other traditional yachts by offering ease of handling and safe performance.

Interior Accomodations

Below decks is an excellent cruising interior- elegant, bright and well-ventilated salon featuring two private cabins. This boat sleeps six very comfortably.

Forward stateroom has two separate births in an over/under arrangement. The roomy head features a marine toilet, molded-in sit down shower, and hot/cold pressurized water in an enclosed easy to clean compartment.

The salon features a large circular dinette to port with an additional settee opposite. Aft of the salon is a U-shaped fully functional galley to port with refrigeration w/freezer, and twin sinks.

To starboard is a spacious navigation station with comfortable padded seat. An aft owners cabin with double berth and hanging locker is port and a single quarter berth is to starboard.

Two water tanks w/120 gallons water capacity, wet locker for fowl weather gear.

Cockpit Arrangement

She offers a well laid out cockpit with plenty of room to move about, wheel steering on large pedestal, and plenty of storage.
