NEW LISTING - OYSTER LIGHTWAVE 48-17
An innovative light displacement fast cruising yacht designed by Carl Schumacher, the Lightwave 48 is an attractive centre cockpit coachroof yacht. Her light displacement means that she needs only a modest rig to deliver superb performance, especially offwind.
Below decks she is a proper cruising yacht, with seamanlike design and spacious comfortable accommodation space. The owner’s stateroom aft has its own companionway giving private deck access. Pacific Pearl is a late model, one of only nineteen launched between 1987 and 1991.

OWNERS ’ COMMENTS
“We have owned Pacific Pearl since 2020, purchasing her in the UK for an extended period of live aboard cruising as a family. After a season of local cruising in UK waters during the pandemic, she was extensively refitted in 2022 in preparation for a longer trip.
Pacific Pearl has looked after us every step of the way. She is fast, especially off wind. Indeed, we came second in class on our Atlantic crossing with ARC+, flying just the white sails, and my wife and I as lone crew. Most importantly, she has felt safe and comfortable. We planned for 180Nm days on passage and frequently exceeded 200Nm, exemplified by the three days we ticked past this milestone on our Atlantic crossing.
Completely setup for off grid, liveaboard cruising, we could happily have continued into the Pacific, but formal schooling for the children has called us back to land.
Pacific Pearl is completely set up and ready to go for another long distance voyage or local cruising, as desired. We will be very sorry to leave her. ”
