31.3’ overall (inc. bowsprit), 27’ double -ender sailboat with cutter rig. Easy to single-hand. One of 6 Halman Horizon 27s with bowsprit and cutter rig (42 built in total- others as sloops). Since 2013 has been sailed every summer in the northern Chesapeake Bay. Hauled annually for winter storage on the hard, shrink wrapped. Teak woodwork interior with teak & holly cabin sole, bronze portlights, convertible dinette and galley in main salon. Single wet head, 2 hanging lockers, and V-berth cabin forward. Comfortable accommodations for 3, berths for up to 5 (2 forward, 2 @ dinette, 1 at quarter berth). Comfortable high-sided cockpit is secure in rough conditions. Trusty Yanmar 2gm20, 16hp diesel - sips fuel. ( .333 gal per hour @ 2500rpm @5kn). Newer Spray dodger, sail covers, and cockpit cushion covers. 4’6 draft. Hull The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. And outside the sailing season, just bottom cleaning and perhaps anti-fouling painting once a year - a few hours of work, that's all.

 

Keel The Halman Horizon is equipped with a finn keel. A boat with a fin keel is more manoeuvrable but has less directional stability than a similar boat with a long keel.
