s/v AlofaCurrently at Bremerton MarinaBuilder: Ericson Yachts USA, Santa Ana, CA    Designer: Bruce KingEricson Yachts was formed in 1964 by Don and Gene Kohlmann, two San Francisco Bay sailors who set up shop in Southern California. Because the brothers had spent years sailing in the blustery conditions of San Francisco Bay and the Pacific outside the Golden Gate, their aim was to build boats that would endure in those conditions.  Completing with Columbia Yachts, they built a number of early Alberg and Crealock designs, before they commissioned naval architect Bruce King, who went on to design more than 29 models of the Ericson Yachts. The sea-kindly solid-core hull, makes a respectable performance cruiser, that combines solid construction, beautiful interior joinery and a modern functional interior. With a sail area-displacement ratio of slightly over 18 and a displacement-length ratio of about 240 is light enough to ghost along in light air, with displacement that allows her to shoulder through the chop.  The tapered aluminum mast, equipped with double spreaders, is keel stepped on the “Tri-Axial Force Grid”.  The narrow shroud base allows better up-wind sheeting angles with inboard aluminum “T” genoa tracks and outboard tracks built into the fiberglass toerail.  Check out the wide side decks for easy passage fore and aft, and substantial deck hardware that is well secured with backing plates.Forward there is a spacious V-berth with cabinets and drawer storage. A separate seat and cabinet to starboard gave this cabin a gracious feel. Moving aft, the saloon has a U-shaped dinette to port (that converts to a large double berth), and a facing settee to starboard. The tasteful interior provides room and storage for a cruising couple, and is spacious enough for family and friends. Further aft, the navigation station is to starboard, with nice electrical panel and more storage.  The aft head on starboard, off the companion-way, has a separate shower stall - a great place to hang up your wet foulies.  The well-outfitted galley to port has a propane stove, 12V refrigeration, deep double sinks and adequate stowage for weeks underway. The enclosed second stateroom, aft of the galley is bright and well ventilated. with four opening port lights and more storage.Alofa has T-shaped cockpit with a leathered 36" wheel, comfortable cushions, dodger and bimini.   Compass, Instruments and Garmin Chartplotter are handy. There is a generous lazarette on starboard. The davits, dinghy and outboard have never even been used!  So come see this boat before someone else gets a great deal on a sweet sailing boat.By Appointment only.  Please call Lee Youngblood C: 425-444-9109 to see this special boat, or email [email protected] Thanks!Show More
