Each of Perseverance's owners has lavished her with care and upgrades. You will find the highest quality equipment and craft were used to ensure she remains Exceptional! She rests at her mooring, ready for immediate departure, waiting to take you on the adventure of your dreams.
Perseverance is a graceful, traditional staysail, center-cockpit ketch. She is a Bryce Fuhriman modification of an exceptional Ted Brewer design. The Celestials offer rugged construction and enviable high-quality workmanship inside and out. This sought-after layout provides exceptionally comfortable and secure accommodations with lavish stowage to store everything needed for an extended voyage.
Further modifications were made to Perseverance's skeg and keel in 2002 by lengthening the keel fore and aft by a bit over a foot. These changes gave her more lift, enhanced the helm's balance, and gave her a higher pointing ability. These improvements to her performance capabilities were noted in her spinnaker PHRF-GB Rating of 143 and her spinnaker PHRF Offwind Rating of 108. With new North sails in 2015, she sails well and will likely surprise you with her upwind capabilities.
Her cutter-ketch rig with the in-boom roller furling main provides an easily managed set-up for short-handed sailing. All sail handling may be performed from the cockpit solo. Her substantial bulwarks allow for secure footing, and her 32" lifelines are a plus for added safety. Re-powered with a 100HP Yanmar Diesel, Perseverance has been maintained to the highest standards and looks forward to carrying you to whatever destination you desire.

Access forward from the cockpit is easy with her wide side decks. Her decks are Marine Deck 2000, a composite cork product, with all the benefits of teak without upkeep and with a longer lifespan. The center cockpit has a removable sole that is well-sealed but movable for significant engine room access. Seating is comfortable with raised coamings and will comfortably accommodate six in the cockpit, around the pedestal wheel. Access to the cabin is via the bridge-deck companionway with solid teak steps, complete with lockers underneath each step. The cockpit has a wonderful full enclosure as well as a custom bug screen. The main and mizzen masts and the topsides are painted with Awlgrip.
"Perseverance" sleeps 6-8 adults, two in each of the two luxurious private staterooms, plus 2-4 in the main salon. The spacious V-berth is 82 inches wide by 76 inches long and offers abundant storage in addition to generous cedar lined hanging and linen lockers. The guest head and shower are to port, and the washer/dryer locker is to Starboard. The bright salon has fore and aft straight settees with pilot berths outboard for stowage or additional crew. All four salon bunks have Lee clothes. The fold-down leaf dining table lays center-line and has a wine stowage bin and additional stowage lockers. The forward bulkhead in the saloon has a custom-built drop-down leaf fitted for chart kits or stowage for a TV.
Aft and starboard of the salon is the secure L-shaped galley. To port is a true, beautifully equipped forward-facing sit-down nav station. Venturing further aft and to port is the passageway to the master stateroom. Outboard in this passageway is a beautifully designed and spacious customized sail locker, while inboard the passageway is the door to the large engine room. One of the Celestials’ designed-in attributes is the vast amount of space in the engine room, providing ample access to all systems.
The comfortable master stateroom is aft and offers a center-line queen berth with a custom mattress. Significant stowage is below this berth. This is also true of all other berths aboard, as all the vessel's tankage is low beneath the sole in integrated fiberglass tanks. Large clothing and stowage lockers are outboard on both sides. A private head with a separate shower stall is to starboard.
Ample stowage lockers and spaces are found throughout the entire boat. A diagram of the storage locations is included in the photo section. There is also excellent ventilation throughout the interior with the following:

“All have been executed to a high level of workmanship and greatly influence the vessel’s long-term serviceability and current market value” - Surveyor’s Comment 4-20-21.
The electrical systems were replaced throughout. Including the engine room, with the exception of a small amount of cabin lighting wiring. This included new panels, distribution wiring, circuit protection, switches, light fixtures, etc. A complete set of wiring diagrams is aboard provided by the system installers.
ProMarine 30-amp "Zinc Saver II" galvanic isolators are installed in each shore power ground circuit
Most thru-hulls/seacocks are isolated (main intake bonded); the Mizzen's port aft chainplate is grounded to the central ground system; including the engine, prop, shaft, generator, ground bus, all 110v outlets, and batteries.
The main mast is grounded to a bilge stud connected to a copper tube inside the leading edge of the keel down to a "toe plate" at the bottom of the keel.
"Bottlebrush" lightning dissipater is at the masthead
All wiring was replaced inside the mast.
AC Power
The AC is wired for two 30-amp 110v shore power cords. #1 Buss feeds a 140 amp, 12v battery charger and ship's AC panel #1. When shore and generator power is unavailable, the 3,000-watt 110v inverter is available to supply the #1 ship's AC panel. Buss #2 feeds the ship's AC panel #2 when shore or generator power is available, however, the shore or generator provides power to both AC panels.
Westerbeke 8BT 8kw Generator 2,504 hrs w/ excellent access on all sides
DC Power
One G31 AGM 12v engine starter battery and one G24 generator start battery. The engine's high output alternator, the generator’s 25-amp alternator, or the New Victron (3,000-watt) 140amp 12v charger/inverter can charge the batteries. Batteries are selector switch protected and can be loaded or charged in a number of ways suited to the need.
