With a re-worked interior, taller rig and full GRP construction reviews of the time were very complimentary. With her heavy displacement and long keel the boat offers great potential as a long distance cruising yacht.NA MARA is the last known example of theBarbican 35to be launched. Purchased by her original owners in kit form she was fitted out over a 3 year period, specifically to fulfil their bluewater aspirations. During her first ownership she cruised extensively venturing as far south as the Azores in the Atlantic and as far north as Norway proving herself to be a reliable cruiser, even during a Hurricane force storm in the mid-Atlantic.
