Description

This vessel is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed "T-Boat", such that she is approved to carry 40 passengers and 3 crew. The vessel is qualified to carry passengers 3 miles offshore in "warm water" conditions and 1 mile offshore in "cold water" conditions. She can qualify for unlimited service (offshore) given a few additions (EPIRB and liferaft).

The boat has operated only in freshwater. She is an overbuilt fiberglass cutter that was completely overhauled from 2013 to 2017 to satsify current U.S. Coast Guard T-Boat standards for passenger operation. The hull, engine and mast were constructed in 1974. The vessel essentially sat at a dock (in freshwater) for 39 years. She has passed two rigorous 5-year out-of-water inspections by U.S Coast Guard inspectors.

In accordance with current U.S. Coast Guard safety parameters, the vessel has the following equipment:

Vapor-proof engine room; vented engine room (2 intake and 2 extake cowlings; Fireboy automatic fire-suppression system; water-proof forward crash bulkhead (at the waterline "vertical"); 42-inch high stanchions with lifelines; high-water alarm; Garmin GPS; new electrical panel (breaker box) for both 12 volt and 110 volt systems; emergency lighting system; two VHF radios at the helm; roller furling genoa; and additional equipment. Her mast is a Proctor mast built in Great Britain (which was owned by Sir Edward Heath, a former Prime Minister of Great Britain).

She features a full keel, weighs 19 tons, has 8.5 tons of lead ballast. Her draft is 5 feet 9 inches. Beam is 14 feet. Waterline at dock is 36 feet -- note that her waterline increases to approximately 50 feet when sailing.

She sails herself on a broad reach. I have taken her to 10.5 knots -- but have heard that she will hit 12.5 knots in the right conditions.

She easily accommodates 30 passengers on deck with ample space for deckhands to attend to handling the rig and caring for passengers.
