The Comfortina 42 is a fast, good looking and very comfortable yacht. It is a designed to offer good sea going capabilities, it has modest free boards and a sleek coach roof. It is well known amongst sailors being a dream to sail, especially when going upwind. The solid construction and a layout including great space for storage makes Comfortina 42 an excellent yacht for island hopping as well as for blue water cruising.
Going down the companionway, you arrive in a large, open space with chart table and heads to starboard and galley to port. The owner’s cabin is located in the forward part of the yacht, offering a double berth, a seat, storage and ensuite heads / shower. A traditional saloon with two sofas and a foldable table, an aft cabin to port with double berth and an aft cabin to starboard which can be used for sleeping 1-2 persons or as a huge storage cabin.
This Comfortina 42 BLUE WAVE was delivered in 2006 to its current (first) owners. BLUE WAVE has had a good life. She has always been serviced and maintained by Vindö Marin, where she also has been stored, in a tempered hall, between August-June since new. In 2020 BLUE WAVE got a new furling mast (instead of the original standard mast), new standing and running rigging as well as new main sail. The new mast, together with the self-tacking jib and electric winches makes sails handling easy and efficient for a short-handed crew. BLUE WAVE is equipped with both a bow thruster and a stern thruster which makes docking in tight spaces a piece of cake. Having only been in the water for about 3 month per year and being lightly used for some weeks in the summer, I would be surprised if there is any other Comfortina 42 being in such an excellent condition…
