The Prior Coaster 33 is a well built motor sailer by designer Alan Hill which performs well under power or sail. With an easily handled ketch rig, sheltered semi enclosed wheelhouse and good accommodation, they make excellent cruising yachts for anyone wanting to spend extended time aboard in comfort. The layout offers six berths with two double sleeping cabins separate from the main accommodation plus the saloon, all with excellent headroom. Teak joinery throughout. V-berth with infill forwards with hanging locker and under berth stowage. Opening hatch to foredeck. Saloon with L-shaped dinette to port and settee opposite. Fixed saloon table with drop leaves. Separate heads compartment to starboard with Jabsco marine toilet (35 litre holding tank) and wash basin. Galley aft to port with two burner Origo 6000 alcohol cooker with oven. Stainless steel galley sink with hot and cold pressurised water system heated via engine and 240v immersion heater. 90 gallon freshwater capacity. Isotherm 12v front opening refrigerator. Access from semi-enclosed wheelhouse to aft cabin with two single berths. Eberspacher Airtronic diesel-fired ducted hot air central heating. JVC radio/CD player. Cloth upholstery and curtains. Located under the cockpit sole, Yanmar 4JH3E, four cylinder, 50hp diesel engine, installed 2001. Electric start. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Shaft drive to three bladed bronze propeller. Rope cutter to shaft. Morse single lever control. 90 gallon fuel capacity in two steel tanks, giving approximately 500 mile range at 6 knots cruising speed. Maximum speed under power 7 knots. Engine hours 1505 in September 2022.

Six 12 volt batteries in two banks, charging via engine alternator with Sterling alternator regulator. Two Solara flexible solar panels forward of wheelhouse plus three TMS rigid solar panels on wheelhouse roof. Solar panels all have regulators and all fitted in 2016. 240v shore power system with Victron 60 amp battery charger, ring main and immersion heater. Nasa BM-1 battery monitor.
Ketch rigged. Gold anodized aluminium masts and white painted booms by SS Spars. Stainless steel standing rigging, replaced 2016. Terylene running rigging. Facnor behind the mast furling mainsail system. Colnebrook furling headsail system. 2 x Lewmar 8 halyard winches on main mast. 2 x Lewmar 30 self-tailing primary sheet winches.
Hull moulded by Robert Ives Ltd. and fitted out by R.J.Prior in 1976 to a design by Alan Hill. White double-ended GRP hull with teak sheer strake. Teak capped raised Iroko bulwarks (all new 2019). White GRP superstructure with grey Treadmaster non-slip to deck - the Treadmaster is well-worn in places. Long keel with encapsulated ballast. Wagner hydraulic wheel steering to keel hung GRP rudder. Self-draining centre cockpit with semi-enclosed teak wheelhouse with GRP roof. Teak cockpit seat tops. Alloy mooring cleats. Hull stripped to bare gel and re-antifouled (including epoxy primer) in 2016. Boat last surveyed in 2018 and most recommendations have been carried out.
