The Windelo 50 is tailored for sailors with vast horizons. The Windelo 50 is a yacht that has been tailored for sailors with very broad horizons. One look at the lines confirms this as the design team of Christophe Barreau and Frederic Neuman have designed a boat that can perform well even when it is fully loaded for a blue water adventure thanks to slightly fuller lines at the entrance than some rivals. Combine this with a powerful rig, modest displacement and daggerboards ensure that you can cover broad stretches of ocean at speed without having to cut back on vital equipment needed to travel in comfort.

The nacelle, a user-friendly and modular space

The key with the layout was to create a friendly space that worked for everyone and also involved everyone. The first key step was to ensure that the helming position was an integral part of the layout. To achieve this, the central galley opens out onto the forward cockpit, this means that cooking and helming are both sociable activities. In fact, with the help of the autopilot, you could easily do both at the same time! It also means that crew who are relaxing in the saloon are readily available to lend a hand at a moment’s notice.
There are other thoughtful practical benefits such as the extremely comfortable 115x200 pilot berth, situated in the main saloon within easy reach of the helm.

The Adventure version is the most accessible boat. Designed for exploration and adventure, her hull protections have been upgraded. The materials used are robust and easy to maintain, allowing alterations onboard in keeping with requirements. This version comes with lifting centerboards or high-performance fixed fin keels. Her characteristics make her particularly open to charter. Her equipment focuses on managing resources and waste.
