Description

Carmen IV is designed by Christian Jensen and built by Anker & Jensen in 1914, one of the most prestige-filled shipyards in Scandinavia and with materials and craftsmanship in the highest quality. Anker & Jensen considered an artist among yacht designers, where gratly concerned with the beauty of lines. The hull is made of mahogany on an oak frame. Carmen IV has a displacement of about 8 tonn with almost half the weight in the lead keel. She was built as a flush deck with two skylights and a deep cockpit where you can sit comfortably and protected.  The mast of Oregon pine and with it’s 18,5 meters can be tuned. The setup for the mast and the rig fullfils the requirements to that she is measured in under R-rules. She is the first 8-meters which won the Færderseilasen in Norway in 1947.In conjunction with the Færderseilas 50th anniversary in 1997, Carmen IV became totally restored. She has also participated in several VW-sailings.

INTERNATIONAL EIGHT METER ASSOCIATION arranges World Cup in Societe Nautique de Geneve this summer. On the Entry list you will discover HRH King Harald V of Norway with his  SIRA-NOR33.

CARMEN IV want to sign up and enjoy this event to the fullest sail.
