A real cruising boat with a fantastic pedigree! Fawkes is different from the myriad dock queens and bay cruisers. She is built and set up for bluewater passages and extensive time "out there" away from the marina. This is a great opportunity for live aboard, go anywhere and stay as long as you want, self sufficient cruising.
This classic Alden designed center cockpit, ketch has been home to the current owners
for 12 years, traveling the east coast from New England to the Bahamas, spending
seven years in the Eastern Caribbean. Fawkes is outfitted for single handed sailing,
making it possible for a two-person crew to make long passages comfortably. Living
away from dock is her specialty. With solar power, a water maker and compost head,
pulling hook is unnecessary. Her latest long passage was an eleven-day run from Sint
Martin to Beaufort, NC. Fawkes is meant for the sea or at anchor, enjoying crystal blue
waters. Newly installed davits make it easy to secure and deploy the dinghy.
The classic tradition of Alden’s deck salon design is evident below with plenty of head
room, large salon windows, giving an open feeling, plenty of ventilation and rich
mahogany cabinetry brought together with a holly and teak solid cabin salon sole. Living
aboard is made easy with abundant storage. A hard bimini, enclosure and lush
cushions, turned the center cockpit into additional living space as well as a secure and
comfortable helm.
The clipper bow and sleek lines turn heads while the full keel and hull design make
Fawkes solid and stable. With care and attention, this classic yacht will be around
another 50 years!
Don’t wait! Fawkes is in the water, ready and willing for new owners to start their dream
cruise this fall.
