Hull & construction details

HULL: Cold molded construction consisting of wood frame with mahogany planking, shallow keel, hard chine, exterior multi-layer epoxy fiberglass lay-up, interior fiberglass skin, anti-fouling bottom paint.

Topsides & transom: Mahogany planking over wood frame, fiberglass exterior overlay, white LP paint with black and gold boot stripes

Decks & superstructure: Plywood over wood frame decks, teak cockpit, fiberglass overlay on decks with painted particle nonskid surfacing, superstructure Mahogany over wood frame, fiberglass overlay, white LP painted with silver brow

The vessel is a custom built, cold molded sportfisher constructed of wood plank over wood frame and equipped with twin inboard diesel engines. Previous owners of the vessel reportedly purchased the vessel in 2005 in Florida and had the vessel shipped to Ensenada, Mexico. While in Ensenada, all paint was stripped from the vessel, any areas of deteriorated wood replaced and the hull, exterior decks and superstructure fiberglassed. Often wood boats exterior fiberglass is referred to as skins as they are generally minimal in thickness. Per the hull core sample provided for this vessel when a through hull had been installed (photo included in photographs); this hull fiberglass is substantial in thickness and would add significant strength to the hull. Other work included installation of new Caterpillar engines and drives and new generator. Over the next few years other upgrades had reportedly been performed including replacing of the cockpit deck, new fuel tank, re-wiring and new distribution panel and upgrading appliances. Overall, this vessel has been actively maintained both mechanically and cosmetically and is in exceptional condition for a vessel of this age. The vessel appears structurally and mechanically sound and suitable for its intended purpose as a coastal pleasure/six pack charter fishing vessel.
