Boatshed Norfolk are offering this Broom 37 Continental Project vessel.
This Boat was placed ashore In 2006 some 18 years ago and the owner never used it again. In fact he used it just once after buying it apparently then she came out for winter and she has been ashore ever since. The owner has passed way and the boat is being sold as a project by the family. The boat appears complete and just as laid up for the winter. The saloon carpets are present and stored in the front cabin as can be seen in the pictures.
As can be seen the boat has just sat there ashore for some 18 odd years and is actually in remarkable condition with just a couple of condensation / water damage wood panels inside. The boat is all typical Broom quality and build and to my eye she just needs a good clean inside as 18 years all locked up show but it all looks to be just a clean up job and recommission the systems back into service. The outside will need a good jet wash and scrub and then a full compound and polish but she is all in original gelcoat.
There are 10 batteries aboard that will all need replacing as they will be long since deceased. The boat has twin Perkins 6354 turbo engines which actually look pretty clean and tidy with a dry bilge and engine space. However you should have the boat and engines inspected as she has stood for a long time. The boat offers two separate cabins fore and aft and two heads compartments fore and aft with the aft one including a large shower. Heating, hot water, anchor windlass shore power and battery charger system are all fitted and she has clearly been loved in her life as every floor panel is nicely marked with what lies beneath. It is a testament to the quality material and build that this boat has stood this prolonged time unattended so well with so little and frankly cosmetic damage to some of the internal wood. This boat is sold as seem and we would welcome any inspection. At the asking price she has a lot to offer and could well be a real bargain.
It should be noted that there is some paperwork in a briefcase with the boat and there is a door key for the side doors, this is the only key we have for the boat. However there is no key for the flybridge door so this will need a lock replacing. The boat is securely ashore at a respected Norfolk boat yard that allows self working or who could recommission the boat and bring her back into service should you wish a professional to do so.
