The Offshore 48 Yachtfisher (built by Tung Hwa in Taiwan) isa traditional double-cabin design with a trawler-style appearanceand a practical cruising layout. Her low-freeboard modified-Vhull is cored from the chine up, and her 15-foot, 6-inch beam isabout average for a boat this size. Inside, the 48’s two-stateroom,galley-down floorplan was available with or without a salon dinette.A serving counter overlooks the galley, and the wide-open salonseems big for a boat this size. Additional features include a fullteak interior, deck doors port and starboard in the salon, and anentryway door from the cockpit to the aft cabin—a convenient feature.The walkaround side decks are quite wide and protected withraised bulwarks. Although she’s called a Yachtfisher, the cockpit istoo small for any serious fishing and is better suited for boardingand swimming.
