DeFever 34 Passagemaker

Heavily built on a solid hand laid fiberglass hull in the US, the South Wind is a rarity in her own realm and not to be confused with those trawlers built in Asia. The Passagemaker 34 design by the reknown Art Defever has a full displacement round chined hull with a long deep keel providing directional stability while also protecting the running gear and rudder.

South Wind is a sedan-style boat with a large upper deck that extends over the salon.

The helm is to starboard in the salon, opposite a settee in front of the galley. A V-berth stateroom and the head are forward. She has a flybridge with helm and space to park an inflatable dinghy.She has 6'6 interior headroom!

South Wind normally cruises at 7 knots, burning 2gph. She carries 300 gallons of fuel in two tanks, giving her long legs. The boat has a 5.5 Westerbeke generator with low hours.

Only 24- 34' Passagemakers were ever built and this was hull 2 which was the boat show model in New York.

Accommodations

Forward is a spacious V-berth and a head with shower aft to port with a hanging locker across. The salon has a dining area forward to port with an L-shaped seat and large table. To starboard in the salon is the helm station forward. Aft is the galley. The salon is spacious and opens directly to the aft deck through double sliding doors. Wide side decks. Beautiful teak interior. Very clean and well maintained boat.
