Description

The Island Gypsy 32 flybridge cruiser is an immensely popular cruiser designed built by Halvorsen using top of the range equipment and second-to-none workmanship. Better known around the world for their beautiful extremely pricey and expensive to maintain timber yachts, Halvorsen in response to popular demands decided to build a more user-friendly and easier to maintain boat for people who appreciate a beautifully built boat but would like to spend less hours varnishing or maintaining a timber yacht.

The Island Gypsy was designed around the seaworthy fishing trawler hull shape, with a wide-beamed, stable hull with high bow and stabilizing keel. Her mid-ship installed engine and well positioned tanks help stabilizing the boat in ocean condition as well as minimize hull weight aft, reducing drag and enhancing performance. The Island Gypsy, like all gentlemen cruisers of her type, is not a speed boat, but will glide along effortlessly at around 7-8 knots with no wake and as little as 8L per hour of fuel consumption, making her an ideal family boat in the days where high fuel costs are making many power boats a lot less popular.
