Description

History
Built originally as a USCG harbor tug and fire fighting vessel. Converted in 1988 to a Yacht. New cabin top and interior restoration performed in 2005. Coast Pilot has made 5 trips from San Francisco to British Columbia and Puget Sound. 3 trips to Mexico and Costa Rica. In 2002 she towed a 90 ft Houseboat to the Hawaiian Islands and made the trip in 17 days. In 1995 she was the escort vessel for the Bishop Museum double hulled canoe “Hokulea” on the West Coast of the US.
She recently returned to SF Bay after being moored in Eureka and Bodega Bay in recent years.
Last haul out and bottom re-paint was performed at Svendsens Bay Marine in Nov 2020.
Last marine survey conducted during haul out in Oct 2018.

Construction: 2” Douglas fir planks on 2”x 4” double sawn oak frames. Oak structural keel and deadwood. Iron and Oak floor timbers. Iron fastened. Deck is 2” Doug fir over plywood with Deck 70 and Tuff Coat non skid finish.
Cabin house is 2” Doug fir with 3/8” painted plywood and canvas and Arabol cabin top coating.
Wheel steering, chain/cable to quadrant. 13 ton interior cement ballast.
White hull with black bottom paint.
Last haul out 11/2020 new bottom paint, Prop speed on prop. Bulwarks stanchions replaced in 2019 with plywood gunnels. Rub rail repair and rail cap renewals.
9 Hull planks replaced in 1990 and 6 planks replaced in 2005. Restoration improvements include a new deck house, deck re-sheathed, New galley and saloon, new stainless steel smokestac.
