Looking for a custodian rather than just a buyer, this lovely launch has great provenance. Built in the mid 1950s, GRP was 'new technology' and this boat was a prototype for the replacement clinker launches built by Keith Nelson & Company at Bembridge on the Isle of Wight.
This particular boat was used as a pilot boat for the 1957 Admirals Cup, ferrying crews to and from Cowes.
She has been in the same ownership for 45 years, bought by a gentleman working at Nelson's boatyard, rescuing her when the yard closed down. The unusual helm controls and Thornycroft engine all add to the charm of the vessel.
The condition of the boat is excellent, continually maintained by the present owner, but he recognises that now is the time to let someone else look after her.
These boat details are subject to contract.
