2005 Tideline Design 26 Custom Carolina Express

Southern Belle is a 26 foot custom Carolina pocket sport fisherman. She is a 2005 Tideline Design made by Robert Boyce from the famed Island Boat Works in Frisco, NC. She is a cold-molded hull made on a jig from C-flex, a type of linear fiberglass cloth. This gives structural characteristics of wood without the chance of rot.

She is a 26ft express-style hull with twin outboard power on her second set of outboards. I repowered her in 2017. With the transom bracket and outboards, she measures just about 30 feet. Hull draft with motors up is a nearly unbelievable 18in. She has a marlin tower with full controls above, Rupp outriggers, and she has been freshly painted. Fighting lady yellow Awlgrip hull sides were redone in 2021, the helm and cockpit in 2020, and cockpit and and bow deck were painted in Awlgrip Matterhorn White in 2023.

She has 2017 Twin Suzuki DF200APX2’s, electronic throttle motors with around 250 hours and full manufacturer’s warranty until June 2023. 125 gallon fuel tank.

She cruises 24 to 26 knots, in average sea conditions, burning on average 8 gallons an hour. Wide open is about 16 gallons an hour, with my average fuel burn rate 4 gallons an hour total for both motors when I fill up consistently over the last few years. Wide-open throttle is 42 knots in flat calm in the back bay. Her Carolina hull has a sharp entry and shallow dead-rise at stern, so she plows through seas without pounding and has a gentle drift. She rides like a typical Carolina hull, nice and soft.

Garmin GPSMAP 8612 xsv (new 2019) head unit with chirp Airmar B-175HW thru-hull transducer installed 2020. Garmin GMR 18HD radar. Upper station slave monitor, and dual-station electronic Suzuki controls and digital gauges. Lenco trim tabs with new rams (2022). Fusion stereo. Salt-water wash down. Two Rule bilge pumps with Ultra Safety Switches float switches. Fuel tank cleaned and drained 2021.

She is a beautiful boat that gets comments everywhere we go. She is comfortable and stable. The full enclosure extends your season dramatically and keeps passengers warm and dry in the wind.
